My Electronics sled
The switches mounted to Altimeter bay
My BP disconnect/short SPDT slide switches
My on/off key switch
Nosecone
I got my 2" strap sewn my a parachute company
my 3/4" strap sewn by the same guy in Mission, BC
PML 6" piston
Test fitting all the parts and getting weight of rocket
Getting CG. Weight with 98 to 75 adapter is 33 pounds.
My proof for future L4 cert.
My altimeter bay assembled.
2 grams FFFF BP with Daveyfire igniters.
I used wirewrap pins to hookup the igniter and BP charge.
Ready for second ground test.
Drogue deployed correctly a good 30 ft away.
And the main chute and cone deployed correctly.
Canadian Tire grey primer, two cans
Step 1 of DupliColor Mystify blue/red base coat of black
Step 2 the color coat
Step 3 the clear coat
The next day, all dry and air is clear.
The final stuff
I used Molnex connectors to make it modular.
The shunting rule for level 4 creates lots of wiring.
Lots of filing to make the rectangle openings.
I got this switch from AllElectronics on the web. The key only comes out in the on position.
The two silver circles are covers for future 5/8" threaded rod, if i ever need weight added to the nose.
The said it was good to 3000 lbs, so hope it works.
I'll be wrapping with electric tape so BP doesn't burn thread.
I know everybody else hates them, but I like them.
I almost forgot to take a picture of me working on the rocket.
The night before I did ground tests. The drogue worked, but the main blew the nose and chute fine, but the piston never came out. I forgot to round the forward and rear edges of the piston, and to sand them so there is no vacuum when they move.
The haze is the fumes in the air, glad i used a resperator.
